Are you religious? I’m only asking out of curiosity

Just curious to see where ppl come from and their background. 
Even if you aren’t religious but grew up religious answer for what you grew up. ❤️❤️❤️

So I’m South African born Australian raised. My biological father was proudly Viking so he had his beliefs which I never followed. Bio mother is now born again Christian. Adoptive parents atheist… and I never grew up learning about god (I only found my bio father first when I was 18 mother when I was 20) but I went to school where we had the choice to do scripture on Wednesday… which I wanted to see what it meant because my best friend was catholic and she always used to go. Then.. I asked my adoptive dad to start taking me to church and bible studies which I did and he bought me a bible and all of that. Then when I was 13… due to my life I ended up being around an Islamic community… they took me in and adopted me as their own… I was tossing between Islam and Christianity for some years because I always believed in god but wasn’t sure. Islam spoke to me and saved me from a bad life and suicide ro say the very very least. So I’m 33 a proud Muslim. Hubby is Lebanese Muslim. We do live somewhat a religious life. We don’t party, don’t drink, don’t engage in a life we know we shouldn’t. We fast the holy month we eat only halal meat I don’t listen to music I dress modestly…. We are happy. This life has given us routine and structure and we have beautiful and peaceful beliefs. I love the person I am today truthfully and I have my religion to thank for that. My bio dad was the only one in my family who didn’t accept because he wanted me to follow Viking beliefs which I forgot what they believe. But everyone else was somewhat accepting. I don’t have a relationship with any family. Not bio or adoptive so maybe that’s why I don’t what anything 😬😅🤷‍♀️

Raised Lutheran Christian. Read the bible. Went to bible school. Got confirmed. 
I threw away my bible on my confirmation day and renounced the faith. The bible is a terrible load of crap, and if you actually read it you'd be horrified. Religion is awful.

I grew up in a drunkards home. No dad in the picture, mom drank and did drugs (she is saved and living for the Lord now), I was in and out of the system, and I too got on drugs and began a very wicked lifestyle by 13 years old. I got saved February 16,2012. The preacher that night preached on “you’re leading your kids somewhere “. It was a revival I did t want to go to but got pressured into. That night as our 16 month old so. Sat between us God did a work in our hearts. We repented that night and asked Jesus into our hearts. He saved us and changed our lives forever. So thankful for that night and what Christ did on the cross for us!!

I grew up in a Baptist family. We were always encouraged to read the Bible on our own and study it. As a result I’m less denominational. I don’t believe we need to identify as Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, etc. that make up the various religions.  I see religion as a man made construct. They made up rules and expected people to follow those rules. I believe people should follow the scriptures. Read the Bible and live like it tells you to live - that’s what I believe.
