I made a similar post a few weeks ago. So anyway I had breast reduction surgery October 3rd. Was originally told 2 weeks of no work and no driving. Which is why I went ahead with the surgery. Then before I went in for surgery I was told 3 weeks because of my profession.

I had my post op Oct 10th with the PA and she told me it's 6 weeks of no work and 3 weeks no driving. I had a lot taken off so she was very worried about my wounds. I let my job know and they were fine with it. So I thought. They didn't want me to come back without a work release and the PA wasn't granting me one for 4 more weeks. The other head chef was going to let the general manager know.

I talked to the other head chef before I left and after my post op, and both times he said to come back when I'm ready and when I'm healed.

My post op was on a Monday and that same week on a Friday I get a text from the GM asking "how I'm feeling" and if I'll be ready to come to work next week. I'm like are you serious!? Then he says we'll talk Friday. He calls me Friday asking me if I'm feeling ready to come back next week as the schedule goes out on Saturdays for the coming week🙄.

He contacts me the following week and I tell him I have another follow up coming up and he says let him know what they say.

I had my follow-up appt on the 20th and he calls me the 21st. He asks me what did they say. He agrees.

Then I tell him I follow up in 2 weeks and the PA said she will make a decision then based on my exam if I'm cleared to go back earlier. He says "in 1 week". I say "no in 2 weeks is my next appt". He says well let's follow up in 1 week to see how you're feeling.

My phone got shut off and I have a temporary backup free phone until I start working again to pay the bill and was going to give him my number. He calls my mom who is my emergency contact because he called my phone but it was off claiming to "check in on me". I got in touch with him yesterday and he sent me a text asking me if I can work next week after the schedule is already out or if I need 1 more week. I literally told you that my follow up is on Nov 7th it was supposed to be the 3rd but I had to push it back a few days.

I don't understand why you don't get the 6 week recovery. Everyone else doesn't have an issue with it. I understand it's a business and they need help but it's really annoying blowing my phone up like that. Not one person even called or texted to see how I was doing. He was just seeing if I was feeling well enough to come back. I've never worked in a restaurant where the blow up your phone like this.

It hasn't even been a month yet and he's been blowing up my phone. I'm at the point where I don't even want to go back.
