3rd miscarriage?

Question

Is it common to have 3 miscarriages in a row after a person has had 2 in a row? I just experienced my second miscarriage last Friday.

Common, but not normal! I have had 4 miscarriages back to back..went to a reproductive endocrinologist, they done every test they could think of and couldn’t find an answer for me. I am pregnant now (17 weeks) and conceived without any medical help and it has been a completely normal pregnancy. Definitely get your OB/GYN to refer you out to a reproductive endocrinologist!

It isn’t “common” but it isn’t unheard of to have 3 miscarriages. I think an article that I read started after the first mc, the likelihood of a third MC increases slightly but even after 4 or more miscarriages there’s still over a 60% chance the couple will go on to conceive and have a healthy baby without fertility treatments like IUI or IVF. 
I had two MCs in a row. I stopped trying for a year after the first one, and then miscarried in July of this year when we started up again. I immediately fell pregnant again at the end of august and praise God I’m 13 weeks now. But, my progesterone was on the cusp of being low and was declining with every blood draw, so I had to go on suppositories. Doctors usually make you wait til 3 MCs before doing tests but I asked my doctor about progesterone and she agreed to test it as soon as I fell pregnant the third time. I also was told to take baby aspirin while ttc and pregnant which slightly decreases miscarriage risk.

If you have a miscarriage, and the next one after is unsuccessful as well, chances are that something is going wrong and you need to consult with a doctor and find the cause. Hope that's not your case though!

I’m so sorry hun to hear about your loss. I had 2 miscarriages and an ectopic all in a row. It wasn’t until IVF that it was discovered that my endometrium was thin and weak. So this was more than likely the probable suspect for my miscarriages and a failed embryo transfer according to my RE. Perhaps have some testing with your OB to see what’s going on.

Wondering the same. I had 2 in a row. I tried to get testing done but they won’t give it to me until 3 miscarriages occur since 2 is considered normal. I think a lot of offices have this policy. I’m sorry you’re going through another :(

My 4th pregnancy was a miscarriage at 18 weeks. My 6th pregnancy was a 2nd miscarriage at 15 weeks. Then my 7th pregnancy was a blighted ovum. After my 2nd miscarriage I switched to a different obgyn because I felt like he wasn’t going to suggest me to do anything new. I was already pregnant with a blighted ovum when I switched obgyn so it was a little bit late for me to start taking something that could help increase my chance of having a healthy baby. My obgyn I’m currently seeing suggested me to take aspirin 81mg and prenatal daily. And to call for progesterone suppository as soon as I find out I’m pregnant again. We’re currently on our first month of ttcing.

I had 4 in a row 1 at 8 weeks 3 chemical pregnancy and then carried my 5th pregnancy to term have beautiful 13 month old. I’m currently pregnant with my 6th pregnancy I’m 8 weeks 4 days I have a Subchronic hematoma so I’m hoping for the best but it’s very stressful not knowing what’s gunna happen
