Time to size up nipple?

Question

My son is 5 weeks today. I have size 1 nipples on the Avent bottles now but he recently started fussing while eating and squirming around. Could this mean he’s ready to size up to size 2?

I just want to add here that if you're using new Avent bottles, they recently redesigned the flows of all the nipples, so the lower numbers are super super slow, slower than what most newborns need unless they're premature. 
I personally used Avent with both my girls, but I'll be switching brands for this baby come December because all I've heard online is parents having headaches trying to figure out the new flow rates because it's a mess.

Not likely at 5 weeks. Babies become most efficient at sucking so there's really no reason to change at all he's more likely uncomfortable because he's gassy.

I have 4 kids and never switched nipple sizes. 😳 from 0-12 month they had same size.

Not likely. The slowest flow is best. Make sure you are pacefeeding.
Most babies never need to move up from the slowest flow. 
Make sure the volume being given isn’t too much. Make sure babe burps often.
