Feeling hopeless and questioning if we go again
I will be 41 next month and we have done 2 retrievals at this point. The first had 15 retrieved but only 1 made it all the way and came back generically normal (3 were blastocysts and were tested). That one is on ice. Doc recommend we have more if possible since the frozen transfer only has a 60% chance of taking.
Fast forward, Stim and retrieval 2 didn’t go as well. The only got 8 and none came back genetically normal of the 2 that made it to blastocyte stage.
I’m feeling so disappointed. I am prepping now for a third round but I am bummed and pissed (doc changed my meds up last time and I didn’t respond as well which is why I am upset. It worked well the first time, why change it?!?!). Each round (even with insurance) is costing us $6k a pop just for genetic testing and freezing, not including the out of pocket cost for surgery and monitoring.
Just wondering how many times I should even try this. If we try to implant and it doesn’t take, then that’s it. I feel like if I keep doing Stim rounds we can get more on ice as a back up.
How many rounds did you go through? Did anyone do an ERA test if they only have one good one? If so, did you think it was worth it?
