When to call cps
I need some advise!
My bf just found out that his 13yr old daughter, who lives with her mother, has been getting black out drunk, making “lean” and taking a bunch of pills not prescribed to her. She told her friends and they told the school. Her mother hid the situation from him and hasn’t told him anything despite them having legal custody. (They live out of state). The daughters grades are suffering on top of the fact she is NEVER at school. Her mom works late hours and continues to quit jobs.
She (his ex) is constantly making him feel like shit and telling him that their daughter is going to die because of him. The most recent was when the school called her and told her he had concerns about attendance.
This weekend the daughter confided in him and the good parent he is, he reached out to his ex to discuss some sort of treatment for his daughter. Instead of being an adult, she yells at the daughter for talking to him.
Is this enough information to get CPS involved? Especially because the mom is aware of the drinking and the pills and is hiding it from my bf and not getting the daughter help? I keep reading on requirement for cps involvement but idk. I am just stressed and we were going to start ttc but can’t because this is a bigger situation that needs addressed.
