Baby number 2?

I feel alittle dumb asking….. how difficult is it to get pregnant while breastfeeding? My son is 11 months and we are ready to try for baby #2, but I’m still breastfeeding and don’t have a period yet. Is there some sort of rhyme or reason to this or is it just pure luck?

Hey momma! Love to help you out since I was posting the same questions two months ago 💓 my daughter was 11 months when we started “trying,” my periods were wacky, like 60 days apart. After the second month of not trying not preventing we fell pregnant! I’m 10 weeks now 😊 we got pregnant just as fast as when not breastfeeding! She’s a little over 1 now and we still breastfeed. We didn’t change anything, we didn’t track, I didn’t have to slow feedings/stop feedings. I know it’s hard not to stress because a few days before I got my positive I was getting negatives, and I called my doctor to ask about TTC while BF, sending ALL the baby dust your way momma 💓

I’ve seen multiple women get pregnant while breastfeeding because they thought it wasn’t possible. I don’t know for sure how it effects your cycle but I do know it’s entirely possible. If you aren’t getting cycles then you aren’t ovulating. Have your hormone levels been tested lately? Usually if you aren’t getting your cycles it’s a progesterone issue. Your progesterone builds up and then suddenly drops resulting in your cycle

I got pregnant with my second while breastfeeding my first when he was 9 months. And got pregnancy with my third when breastfeeding my second when she was 7 months 😅 although I got my period back at 8 weeks postpartum both times
