I wasn’t worried about it but then my family came to see us and my brother had strep throat 🙃 luckily my baby didn’t catch it because he didn’t hold him or anything but this time around I’m definitely gonna put my foot down. A lot of boundaries were crossed when I had my son that I refuse to repeat.

No, but my family is very respectful of my rules & use common sense. They know not to visit if sick, wash hands, & no kissing the baby

As long as everyone washed their hands, no kissing and wasn’t sick I was fine. It’s different now but I remember people getting offended if I’d ask them to wash their hands before touching my newborn. I think it’s common sense.

I am almost 15w and have decided family can meet baby before he is vaccinated but I will ask no kissing and they have to wash hands prior to.

I’m a teacher, my husband works with the public, and our first is in daycare. We took our kids out and about from the very beginning. We just used common sense and didn’t take them around people visibly sick, asked them not to kiss their faces, and wash hands when they were really small. My second was born in November of 2020 when Covid peaked here but we didn’t choose to quarantine as much as others were. (My mom had to come and be around us as I had HELLP syndrome post partum and my doctor new my mom was an RN so she was there to manually take my BPs and act as my home nurse.) We also had people our aide of the home watching our first because we worked up until delivery and when I came home, my husband was already going back to work and I was too sick to care for both of them.

I’m honestly afraid of RSV more than anything. RSV has gotten so much worse over the years. I’m so worried my baby will get RSV and struggle to breathe and end up hospitalized. I have friends whose babies have contracted RSV and been in and out of the hospital. That’s my biggest fear! My baby is 1.

Yup I’m getting induced on Saturday and I told everyone no one is going to be meeting baby until he gets his first round of shots at 2 months BUT it’s only going to be grandparents and they must wear a mask and ABSOLUTELY no kissing and washing hands!!! 
Everyone else friends, cousins, etc will see him when he gets his second round of shots 
I told everyone they can gladly FaceTime me if they wish to see him sooner but I am putting my foot down the last thing I need is for my newborn baby to get sick! Been seeing a lot of newborns getting RSV 🥺

Wasn’t worried at all until my first child caught whooping cough right before his first shots. He had to spend 10 days in the hospital. It was a total nightmare seeing my baby like that. With my second there was definitely rules put in place and even more so with my third because he was a premie. With this baby there will also be rules put in place no if ands or buts about it.

I wasn’t worried about nothing until my 2 weeks old contracted RSV and ended up getting CPR 2 times to resuscitate her and wasn’t even able to breathe on her own and still is in the hospital till this day, after she’s discharged NO ONE is coming around holding or kissing my child !
