So I came in yesterday had my son, started at a 10 ( hemoglobin ) fell to a 8.4 yesterday, they took blood today and I guess it fell a little more ( not sure what it is ) is this normal?

Mine is 4 and they won’t do anything for me except tell me to take iron supplements 🙄. If you were taking any supplements before birth continue taking them. They might consider an iron infusion after birth if it is getting lower. Did you bleed a bit more then normal?

10 is low, 8.4 is quite low. Blood loss itself is normal with birth but it should not keep dropping, below 7 you would need a blood transfusion but that is sometimes considered at 10 if you are feeling dizzy or have other symptoms. Glad they continue to monitor you, but definitely ask questions to make sure you understand and are safe. You will likely need an iron supplement once you are discharged to help rebuild your stores as well.
