Ovulating 3 months PP while breastfeeding?!

So I’m probably going to sound very dumb. I just had my second baby 3 months ago and I’m not on any birth control as with my first I never got a period or ovulated for 11 months. I exclusively breastfeed and I’m so confused as to what’s going on?!? My uterus started hurting the other night and I took an ovulation test the next morning and it was super positive… problem is I had sex Wednesday night 🤦🏼‍♀️ am I totally screwed at this point?!?

It’s possible that you could have started ovulating already. However, there is also an increased chance of anovulatory cycles in the first few months while exclusively breastfeeding (meaning your body goes through the hormonal changes of ovulation without actually releasing an egg). It does seem like there’s a reasonable chance of pregnancy with your scenario though! 😬
