So I’ve always known I wanted to be a mom, preferably a younger mom. I really only want one all in all. I’ve had horrible baby fever for the last year, but I’m not anywhere near close to ready just yet! I am on birth control, pill.

I’m in a newer relationship now and I like to feel people out from the beginning on their kids ideas… don’t want to waste my time!

So… boyfriend and I (21) were discussing it and he said he was thinking he wants to start trying when he’s past 30. 30?? How??? How can you want to wait that long? We are only 21 now… that’s 10 years!

I have no idea how to bring up to him that I want them WAY before that!

In the moment I laughed and said I don’t think I could wait that long and it was kinda the end of the conversation.

Since then we’ve chatted about kids a few times and he’s always making a point that we’re not ready, which I completely agree. I’m not working because I’ve been working full time on my mental health and trying to be a better person for me.

I own a house, 3 bed 2 story in iowa where I do live. But I know I’d like to at least have a decent job and some savings and obviously not be relying on my father to pay my bills (I’m very lucky he’s helping me financially through my mental health journey).

I know no ones really ready but I know damn well kids aren’t 10 years out for me. Guess I just have to keep talking about things with him!
