i don't really keep to a schedule anymore, i pump 3-4 times during the day, usually right before i go to bed and then whenever she wakes up to eat which is usually around 5/6am. sometimes if i wake up before that and am leaking a lot (i leak all the time and have a very strong let down where it'll literally just pour out) then i'll pump real quick then go back to bed. if you're changing your routine then i would start very slow as some people do get mastitis or clogged ducts or even get a drop in supply if they make a sudden change. i personally didn't but i have had mastitis 3 times for other reasons and it's definitely not fun so until you know how your body will respond start slow mama

also regardless of nipple type some babies just refuse to take a breast or have latching difficulties so feeding from actual breast isn't a possibility!

my nipples are slightly inverted so they don't stick out and she doesn't latch so instead of formula feeding i just pump and bottle feed her that. sometimes she'll latch with a nipple shield but i have yet to find a good one that stays on and doesn't get knocked/falls off every 10 seconds

Can I ask why do you pump when.baby can just drink from breast ? I'm a first time mom . So I don't understand why ?

I am exclusively pumping and I pump 4-5 times per day just depending on how my day looks. Usually I get about 6 ounces. My son gets breast milk during the day and then at night we give him formula. I usually only pump once during the night when he wakes up. During the second (or third) time he gets up I just give him a bottle and go back to sleep. My schedule is something like 3 am, 9am, 3 pm, 7 pm, 11 pm, but lately I’ve pushed back the 7 pm and left out 11 pm.

How long do you pump for? I am pumping for 15-20minutes using the elvie hands free single pump and the curve.

This is my second time exclusively pumping. I only pump over night when my LO wakes up for a feed. Finally enjoying a little extra sleep now that hes doing longer stretches (about 6/7 hours) I haven't experienced any clogged ducts/issues and my supply hasn't dropped but I am very full when we wake up.

I’m still pumping at night but I stretch it like 3/4 hours I think you will be fine getting some longer sleep .. but if you feel your boobs getting clogged I’d pump. I’m kinda experimenting with that too.. I just wouldn’t go past 5 hours maybe
