How do you know??

Question

How exactly does one know when they’re going into labor? I don’t want to show up to the hospital it being a false alarm but I also don’t want to give birth in the back of the car on the way to the hospital.

Answer

Trust your body. Contractions, pain wise, can feel different for women. For me, the pain was intense when I started active labor, like I could hardly stand up straight when having them. If you have any ongoing/gush of leakage, or a the contractions are coming fast and strong (you can download a contraction timer) Id head in to get checked! There’s no shame in that. I went twice my first time before I was in labor.

You will know for sure! Everyone used to say that to me when I was pregnant, and I would say “but how will I know??”. But trust me… you will definitely know 😂 I kept getting braxton hicks and things and kept thinking that was it… but when my waters broke and the REAL contractions started… trust me you will know the difference! However, my hospital always told me that if I was worried or unsure about anything, they would rather check you 100 times and have 100 false alarms, than not get checked and then something happen, so dont be afraid to go get checked if you are really worried about something.
