what was your baby's first word?

im so excited. (i'm a ftm) my baby is 4 months old and she's already practicing her "mmm" sounds and a few times she has already said "ma". 🥹 i know it's still early and probably too soon to tell so out of curiosity, what were your babies first words?

At 4 months those are just sounds, not real words. I wouldn't expect it til they were closer to 1-1½ years old.

Haha she was all about daddy. Everybody was called daddy for a long time. She’s still a daddy’s girl at 2.

Cat was my daughter's first word then I think dada came soon after

The day she turned 9 months my daughter said mama (and then said it non stop for like 3 days.)

Kitty. Sounded more like “key-ee” but the cat walked in the room and she started pointing and screaming “KEY EE!”  She was like 9 months? She would say mama and dada but they were more so sounds than used with context.

my sons first real intentional word (imo) was either “outside” or “bee” (our cats name). he said these around 1.25-1.5 years old. he loves babbling lol and i think he’s slightly behind in speech (we see an early intervention specialist in a week).
