so my bf and i had a break for a few days because things just got abit too much, we’ve decided we want to try and fix things and work things out civilly because we do love each other and want to make it work, but my parents absolutely hate him and hate the fact i’ve decided to go back to him… i am 22 years old and i feel it’s unfair because i am an adult and i should be able to make my own mind up regarding my love life 😞

It depends on the back story here, but if you planned on getting back with him you’re wrong either way. This is why you don’t tell everyone your relationship business if you plan on staying with them.

There aren’t “wrong” to hate him. That’s their prerogative to have that opinion. 
At 22 years old, do you want a boyfriend that your family doesn’t like and you’re having an on/off relationship with?  You’re not wrong either, you can date whoever but I’d personally be more interested in a fun, less dramatic relationship at that age
