39 weeks and fired my care team

Kayla

Hi there

I’m 39 weeks with my second pregnancy everything’s been textbook this time around. With my first pregnancy I had preterm labor and HG so, rough.

In the last 3 years since the first pregnancy, I moved and so I needed a new midwife! Even tho I absolutely loved my experience with my son, it’s 3 hours from where I am now and I dilated from 0-8 in 2 hours so…. Not really wanting to deliver on the side of a highway lol!

I found a midwife system I liked, I got 3 that I rotate between because they’re on a hospital rotation together so 100% one of them would’ve delivered my baby!

Last month, I was measuring ahead so they booked a growth scan. I was told by the tech and my midwife my due date would be moved to 12/14 based off of size from the scan they weren’t comfortable letting me go too far beyond that date (my original due date was 12/31 so that’s the absolute longest they said they’d let me go IE if I get to there id be induced). So my due date is updated on my chart and in all my paperwork

then last week I’m at my appointment she starts talking about how I’m 35 +3 and officially surpassed my prior pregnancy length(woo!) however, that’s wrong.

Okay so I go to my app yesterday and I question it because here I was thinking I was 38 weeks (nearly 39) and ready to get a membrane sweep and start doing all the things to instill labor. And she opens my chart, everything has been edited back to my OG due date of 12/31. The only place it still shows 12/14 is FMLA paperwork that was sent to me in MyChart. So I tell her hey. Someone messed with my charting and edited back, Why? That’s sketchy.

And I get the run around. Oh it was ✨never✨ changed. We never told you that, idk where you’re seeing that.

They’re gaslighting me. So I request and induction be scheduled for 12/23, because that feels comfy, between the new due date and the original (39 or 41 weeks depending what dating you use). And they say no, they don’t do elective inductions. They can schedule me for 1/7 at the earliest because thats “41 weeks and a medical reasoning”.

I just starred at her like wtf do you mean? That’s way over due. That’s dangerous no. That’s putting my safety and my babies safety at risk. So she said okay I can probably do 12/31 but if someone comes in, we’ll have to bump you to the next date. So I agree to that.

I leave the appointment and get to the parking garage and get a call from the office, I’m assuming to verify the time and where I go for this but nope. They couldn’t book for 12/31 because it’s a holiday so they just put my down for 1/7. What happened to just bumping back a day or 2? Or 12/30?

I email my main midwife and explain all of this to her and SHE send a giant message back essentially saying I’m SOL, their hands are tied? And that I can go somewhere else if I can find anywhere that will induce me. There was more gaslighting in there as well I just don’t feel like repeating everything in the messages bc it’s just too much.

So I told her to cancel my appointments and that they were fired.

And now I’m either 37 or 39 weeks along without a care team. No hospital to give birth in. And I’m stressed as fuck. I’m calling around Monday to try and find somewhere to take me. I have never had to advocate for myself this hard with a medical team before. I don’t know what to do.

UPDATE: found a new care team and a new hospital! I’m all set 2 have this baby(:
