Did you make a goodie basket for your l&d nurses? If so, what all did you put in them and how many did you make?

No. I refuse to participate in this trend. As if we don’t have enough to worry about while pregnant, now we have to worry about making cute baskets too for someone doing their job?

I did with my first baby, but won’t be with my second. It was just more to worry about! Honestly didn’t feel like the nurse’s appreciated it either. A nurse said she was going to just bring it into the nurse’s lounge for everyone to share..

I've just done a quick Google as I've never heard of these- some of these are INSANE and are setting ridiculous expectations for women.... I mean, look at this one..

No. I’m a nurse and I think they are kind of ridiculous. You don’t need to be adding extra stuff to your plate when your giving birth!
An alternate idea that I appreciate more as a nurse. Write a thank you note later to the nurses that care for you. It’s really sweet when a patient takes the time to say thanks/when they found my care memorable. Or even just write a good review or send an email to their nurse manager that your nurses were great. Not only does it make the nurse feel appreciated and rewarded, their manager and the hospital overall love to get good reviews/compliments!

I gave à box of chocs and a card to the team who looked after me and my doctor . Had a scheduled c section with loads of time to prepare for it so I had time to get organized - otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to and im sure no one expects to get anything.

Wow, I'm from the UK, and it's not a thing here as you aren't guarenteed a single nurse/midwife throughout your time there.. and you are discharged really quickly... I might send something later, I've even forgotten my thank you cards....

I’m a L&D nurse and while we all absolutely love the baskets, we give the same care no matter what, so it’s not expected just appreciated. ❤️

Dude my last baby that was born in the hospital the nurses were totally rude and talked shit about me as if I wasn’t 5 feet away. Why the hell should I give them anything besides the middle finger and tell them to sod off?
