3 year old Independence
Hello parents! I would like some tips and tricks to teach my 3.5 year old daughter how to be independent. (She is an only child)
She started Nursery 4 months ago and I did see an improvement!
However she would still cling to me, favor me over her father, scream if I am using the toilet or taking a shower..etc
Things I tried:
1. Daily morning and night routine.
2. Independent play.
3. Letting her choose her clothes, food, activities, etc.
4. Asking her for her opinion on things.
5. Time-out in extreme cases.
6. 1 hour of playing and socializing at the park daily.
My perspective is that she really needs a friend or a sibling (fyi we are ttc).
When I am not at work, I spend most of my time with her, I try introducing new activities but most of the time she refuses to do things alone.
It is very important for me to get some time for myself as I did notice a decline in my mental health. I sometimes get away with 15 mins of me time but I really need more!
I would appreciate your advice ❤️
