What would you do? Read description.
My daughter is 4. She goes to preschool 2 days a week and gymnastics 1 day a week. Since she started back in September, she was sick 4 times in two months. It was awful. I know a lot of parents are going through this because it’s a rough viral season this year. I caught her last illness and I was sick for FOUR weeks. I think it was the flu and I’m just finally getting over it. So she’s been home from all her activities since end of November because we’ve all just been so sick.
My husband and I want to TTC in a few weeks. We’ve been pushing it out for various reasons for a couple of years because we’ve just had a lot going on in our lives but we’re finally ready. We actually would have tried this month but I was way too sick. It was a bummer.
I’m debating keeping my daughter home from preschool & gymnastics for another couple months to avoid sickness while we TTC & also in the first trimester (if I happen to get pregnant quickly). I also just don’t want to get sick again since I just recovered from a four week illness. I know there have been several times she came home from preschool telling me kids were sneezing like crazy or had noses running like faucets. Also every time I bring her to gymnastics, kids are coughing…every single time. It’s inevitable she’ll be sick again, probably many times, when she starts her activities again.
I know not everyone has the option to keep their kids home but if it was a possibility, would you do it? I know the activities are really great for her but I’d really like to avoid sickness during this awful viral season while we start to TTC. I’d probably plan to send her back in March as sicknesses start to die down.
Would love your honest opinions. ❤️
