So I’m having trouble getting my meds so was wondering if there’s possibly any input or anything anyone can give?

My dr prescribed a medication which my insurance doesn’t cover, I do have an alternative (generic) on file which can be filled.

I’m not having any flares or outbreaks right now 36 weeks, I’m scheduled to be induced on Friday but dr wants me to take it for about a week to prevent lesions or flares for a safe vaginal delivery. Would the generic be ok to take, I called drs but can’t give me a good answer, I spoke to pharmacist and she said it should be fine. Otherwise I’d have to wait till Monday or Tuesday to start taking when I can get a clear answer from a dr.

Should I wait till Tuesday, which would make me having the medication in my system for like 3-4 days or start taking now which would be in my system for about 6-7 days?

Sorry if this is complicated and if you’re not sure don’t answer just wondering if there might be one or two people knowledgeable about this info within the app.. thank you.
