i tried giving my baby a pacifier within the first week but she never liked it, she's 4 months old now and hates them and prefers to latch onto me to soothe instead.

I would love it if my daughter would take a pacifier, but if it’s not boob she doesn’t want it. Even getting her to take a bottle is a struggle.

Yes. We started the day they were born. My lactation consultant recommended and it also helps reduce the risk of SID's. We had no issues with nipple confusion either

I hadn’t really planned on giving one to either of my kids but the nurses in the NICU gave one to my preemie daughter to practice sucking and for soothing when I wasn’t around to nurse. She never really used it once she was discharged unless we were on car rides. My son on the other hand was stuck on the boob constantly to the point where I was bleeding, so I gave him a pacifier to give me a break. Took a few different ones before we found one he liked but I was so thankful to get a break. He was about 3 or 4 days old when we introduced and he stopped wanting it around his 1st birthday.

I started from 48 hrs old she will usually take it right off the breast for a little while. I didn't want her using my breast as a smoother

No I have 4 kids and breast fed and didn’t give any of them a pacifier. I don’t want them obsessed with it like some kids.
