Ready to scream

So both my babies 1 and 5 woke up sick christmas morning (fevers and vomiting)

So we decided to stay home I called my grandmother and texted my mom to let them know we would be staying home my husband texted his mother and let her know the same ofcourse my family moved forward with christmas I didn't expect or want anyone to wait however my husband's mom wanted to wait intill the babies felt better to do christmas at her house my husband is a only child so this was very easy for them to do and they all have 3 or 4 day weekends this coming weekend if they didn't have 2 weeks off for the holidays our kids are the only small ones other side that was going to be at there house on Christmas day so everyone got together for food but no one opened presents because they wanted to wait for the little ones family is now upset saying they could have brought the presents to the kids it's silly why did they wait

You guys had this planned

That's bull shit all the othere kids have done there Christmases they should have to

You guys could have came anyway so and so was sick as well as so and so and they still came you just didn't want to bring your kids over

It was 6 degrees christmas morning and 12 by one my 1 year old had a fever of 103 no I didn't feel it to be wise to pull my kids out when they felt bad and it was soo cold as far as my in laws waiting I was so shocked I sat in my bathroom floor and cried that we ruined there christmas they are the only people who have not tried to make me feel bad for staying home

My grandma and mom did send christmas dinner to my house because they knew I wasn't planning on being home and I wouldn't have anything ready to cook it's my aunt and siblings that are making a big deal out of us going to my in laws to celebrate christmas

Also we know that my siblings one had been going places with covid 3 weeks prior to Christmas and one of the otheres continued to go places with flu a which is what and where my kids got sick we don't leave our house often due to the youngest having a bad immune system issue

I am depressed that I feel like my kids missed out on yet another holiday with family but at the same time I want my babies to be healthy

Do we go to my in laws Saturday and celebrate like nothing happened or do we just tell them to go along as of this morning both kids are fever free my husband is soon to follow as he hasn't had one this evening

This is the first christmas I have ever spent with out my family

We have missed one Easter in 2020 thanks to covid

And one 4th of july due to my personal health issues and ended up hospitalized in 2021

Like I am normally all in for holidays helping set up and get stuff ready for the kids I love being with my family to celebrate like I always feel like we forgot to celebrate when we can't get with everyone 💔

Which was why intill talking to some of my family members u was really excited that my in laws decided to wait and didn't care to wait even with me and hubby trying to talk them into going ahead without us it was like at least they only misses out on one

(We did celebrate at home like always christmas morning my 5 year old was on it just really missed the being with family part)
