Fetal pyelectasis.. help!!
I just had my 20 week anatomy scan today (20 weeks 5 days) and the tech said my son's right kidney is enlarged due to pyelectasis. I have never heard such a thing so I panicked. He didn't seem concerned but he said he wanted to to get a second opinion at Columbia in Manhattan. He said it typically resolves itself before birth (90% of the time) and it was a "mild case." Needless to say, I'm the type who will worry until I'm told not to and not the other way around like I should lol. I've heard this is fairly common, especially in boys. Has anyone had anything similar happen or have any insight?? Thanks in advance!
