What factors make you a high risk pregnancy ?

I’m 10 weeks pregnant and told my friend I’m always so worried to lose this baby because I had a miscarriage in October. She’s always saying yeah I get it because you’re very high risk. I’ve been paranoid about everything even having sex so I haven’t done that even though my doctor hasn’t said anything about me being high risk. I’m just wondering who would be considered high risk? I do also have pcos and hypothyroidism. My OB is treating this like a normal pregnancy though

If you're not seeing a high risk OB and you're not diagnosed high risk then you're not high risk.

Your OB is treating you as a typical pregnancy. Nothing you’ve mentioned makes you high risk, let alone extreme high risk.

Pcos can be a cause for high risk pregnancy for many reasons and I don’t want to scare you but I also have pcos and been told that I may be classed as high risk for just having pcos alone by my fertility dr, miscarriages can be a cause for high risk. 
If you are worried about being maybe a high risk can you ask your GP or ob? 
I had a miscarriage in October too and pregnant again I’m 7+3 today had a scan today too. Sorry for your loss 💔

I had 6 miscarriages before this pregnancy and that did not make this pregnancy high risk. My doctor does take extra precautions such as monitoring my thyroid closely and having me take progesterone and baby aspirin during the first trimester but I was never put in a high risk category simply because of previous losses.

I’m high risk in pregnancy due to having Hypermesis with two previous pregnancies and my second baby my waters ruptured at 35 weeks (pre term labour started at 29 weeks so we were not shocked !) I’m not just over 6 weeks with baby number 3 and I’m classed as very high risk because of my history! But so far no sickness yet and I have my first ultrasound today!!

I’m high risk due to Gestational diabetes and advanced maternal age. I also have some auto immune disorders. I see a regular OB. They offer to send me to a special one for ultra sounds and I refuse. I told them if their tech sees something weird then I’ll go. I have had visits every one-two weeks since 16weeks. I also get more ultrasounds to monitor babies growth. I will have to start NST’s soon probably around 32-34 weeks and those will be twice a week. If you’re high risk, you will know. I would discuss your concerns with your OB though. She may not be fully aware of your history.

You would know if you were high risk as you’re doctor would’ve informed you of such & you’d most likely have more appointments
