Do you believe its okay to be friends with exes, while in a new relationship?

And i mean FRIENDS. No ill intentions. Not best friends who hangout everyday. No sex. Both are in new relationship. Just curious. I used to always think i would never be with a man who is friends with someone he slept with, but im just want to know what other women think/ other experiences

Personally no unless very special circumstance. Like, if they were childhood friends etc. example. My father in law is still good friends w one of his exes. She is married with kids, he’s married to my MIL. Their kids are friends. My mil and her are friends. He’s friends w her husband. They “dated” in high school for a year or so and had cheesy prom pics together and he was friends w her brothers. I feel like if it’s an embedded familial friendship and the relationship was trivial and youthful, maybe.

I am bisexual. I have two ex girlfriends and I am friends with them both still, I am not friends with any ex boyfriend or my ex husband. 
Might be good for reasoning for a break up, one I got into a relationship with knowing she was moving across country in a few weeks. We broke up because she was moving across country and we were friends beforehand and she saved me and my daughter from being homeless. 
Second, again friends beforehand, we arent as close as before but still close and we broke up because wenwere at different stages in our lives. Before I met my partner she did try and kiss me and I turned her down (she is married and her and her wife have adopted two beautiful children) but told her to talk to her about their relationship and kow they are better than ever. My partner isnaware amd met both of my ex girfriends on multiple occasions but neither were serious. 
He is civil with one of his ex girlfriends, they were childhood friends (no kids involved) but I have met her and she is nice enough to me. She sent us a gift for mine and his daughter and hasnt shown any signs of trying to get back with him.

I think it depends on the people and specific circumstances but I’m close friends with an ex, I actually work for him. I wouldn’t stop talking to him if I was with someone and he is with someone now and we’ve stayed friends. That’s all it is, just a strictly platonic friendship now so why couldn’t we be friends? We respect each other and didn’t want to lose the friendship when we broke up so we worked hard to get it back and we want to keep it.

I think it depends on the circumstances. 
It’s not okay if it makes your partner uncomfortable. I personally would not like it. I don’t see the point.. they are an ex for a reason, no? If you dated for a little, figured you’re better off as friends & it wasn’t anything super serious, then MAYBE. There’s too many “what if’s” & I do feel like a lot of people hold on to something from a past relationship.. I dated a guy who was friends with an ex that he had dated for over 7 years. She was in a new relationship as well & it was very uncomfortable for me. They did occasionally hang out (usually w her boyfriend) but she did not like me & it definitely felt like they weren’t over each other. I don’t know why you’d want to drag that into a new relationship. There are definitely cases where I feel like it would be okay, but I’m not sure I’d ever personally be okay with my boyfriend remaining friends with an ex. At least not in any circumstances I’ve personally been in.

Would you want your boyfriend friends with one of his? Exes are exes for a reason exes are in the past for a reason being your in a new relationship, you should leave your ex in the past your new boyfriend would not appreciate it if you were friends with your ex. That’s just a red flag to along of people 🚩

i don’t see anything wrong with it as long as it’s just an occasionally talking kinda friendship and there is no feelings involved. but it depends on how your s/o feels. i personally wouldn’t be comfortable with my partner being friends with their exes in most cases but that’s just me.
