Do not want to do a child birth class…

Question

I’m 24 weeks with my first baby I have a child birth class in March but I don’t want to do it , my mom wants me to but I feel like it will be really awkward 😖 cause I think you have to get into positions and things like that in front of people. Has anyone done a class and did they make you do that

I never did any childbirth classes. I’ve had two natural unmedicated births. Your body knows what to do! That said I did educate myself on certain things- BUT again your body will tell you which positions to be in etc on instinct!!

I didn't really need the class for myself as I had done my own research, but it was really helpful for my partner to understand what was going on and be able to support and love me how I needed. It also helped him be more compassionate post-partum

I never went to any birthing classes and I have had two children. I looked up breathing techniques and stuff like that, but for the most part my body knew what to do.

it's not required or mandatory just if you want to but it's more of online thing now. 2nd time around I didn't bother taking a birthing class cause 1st pregnancy I went on my own it was a full day class n really I found no purpose talking/disclosing to strangers my personal views on birthing. even though we were all pregnant I couldn't relate or really fraternize w anyone. most birthing info you can find online or in books nothing biggie just research your birthing options, pain relief medications/methods ect

I tried to get into the birthing classes at my local hospital, but they were all booked up til well past my due date. We ended up just watching youtube videos.

I never did and I was fine. Also gave birth not too long after COViD so everything was cancelled anyways 🤷🏻‍♀️. Totally your decision what YOU want to do. No one else is pushing that baby out so you get the say!

I loved our birthing class. There was no awkward positions and only 1 class we did anything that wasn't sitting in a chair normally and you could just opt out. It was good info but especially for my husband as it eased a lot if his fears having knowledge he didn't have before amd kinda knew what to look for and understand more. It was super informative and really helped with info post birth that you don't hear a ton. A lot of them post covid times you can do online also but I thought it was a great help personally for me but especially my partner

I did one but the positioning was all optional. I waited super late (actually missed the last one because I was in actual labor) to do my birthing class and I was 38 weeks. No way I was getting on the ground and doing poses. I’ve worked in OBGYN for 10 years and even though I know a lot it was super informative. I’d definitely recommend them.

I did a class at a local hospital and there was no awkward getting into positions. They did have you practice breathing and the rest was a slideshow. You can call and ask for a better description.
