Birth Control After Baby?

Would love to hear what you’re doing for birth control after baby? I chose not to get on any form of birth control after my first two, which led to a very unexpected baby #3🤪. So, this time I need to do something a little more proactive, but I’m not sure what’s best. I’m breastfeeding and not sure if any birth controls affect that. Obviously, I’ll discuss more with my doctor, but would love to start researching now!

I spoke with my obgyn and decided on the copper iud. Main part for me is that it is non-hormonal, but also I always would forget to take my birth control when I was on the pill and I don’t want to risk a chance of pregnancy again until I’m ready

While breastfeeding, you can use birth control that contains estrogen because it messes up your supply. I chose the mini pill

Personally considering paraguard IUD which I had before TTC and also just using condoms. This is our first so knowing we may want to try again in the next few years I’m personally looking into more non-hormonal options. I think there is something about estrogen and breastfeeding…definitely talk with your doctor for sure!

I did mini pill after my first and will be while nursing this one. You just absolutely have to take at the same time everyday.
