Membrane sweep? Yes or no?

Question

If you have gotten a membrane sweep before what was your experience with it? 
I might ask my doctor for one tomorrow but I’ve never had one done before so just want to know what to expect.
I’ll be 38 weeks 5 days tomorrow. Last appointment was on 2/15 and I was 3cm dilated and 90% effaced.

Got one at my apt at 38w1d and water broke in a ChickFilA bathroom 4 hours later. Had my daughter 6 hours after my water broke. 10/10 if you want to go into labor I recommend. I was already a 2 thoughZ

Had it done for the first time with my 3rd pregnancy. It put me into labor the very next day! Idk if I would ever get again because it was quite painful. I was 3cm when I got it done.

It was super quick, definitely uncomfortable, but it worked for me! I had it done at 9am and then had my boy at 11pm that night!

With my first baby I had one done at 39+4 and it was very painful, but I was hardly dilated at all. Had my daughter that night. Second baby I had 3 done, none worked. I was 4cm and cervix was so stretchy, my midwife said “she could pull it over baby’s head” if she tried lol. But no labour. My third baby, had a sweep done at 37+5, was 2-3 cm dilated and was in labour 12 hours later. It really is a toss up if it’ll work or not. But always worth a shot , much easier than induction if it works.
