๐ ๐๐ Strawberry Jam! (Recipe in post!)
Yโall, I had some strawberries Iโd washed and cut a few weeks ago in my refrigerator and that never got eaten. They still looked decent and no mold present, just a little fermented so I decided to throw them in a pot with some sugar and lemon juice and just made some amazing strawberry jam! ๐ never done it before, but will definitely be doing it again! Such a great way to avoid all the additives in the store bought jams and it was sooooo easy! This can work with any leftover fruits you have in your fridge. Hereโs what I did:
~1 lb strawberries
1 cup sugar (adjust for the sweetness you desire, I had no idea so was guessing and it turned out great)
Juice of one ripe lemon (~1/4 cup)
Tossed all ingredients in a sauce pan over medium high heat, brought to boil for five mins. Removed from heat and smashed down the strawberry chunks with a potato masher. Put back on medium high heat stirring occasionally until cooked down and foam mostly cooked out (maybe 15-20 mins). Reduced heat to medium and let simmer for another 15 mins stirring occasionally, and removed from heat! Put it in a glass jar with a ring lid and now itโs cooling. Literally so easy and itโs so tasty!
