My husband thinks he is too old to have a 2nd. (He’s 42). But i think our age is actually a great reason to try for a 2nd so that our son has someone to grow with over his whole life - even after we are gone . Do you agree with me ?

Mine was 40 when our first was born, and 42 almost 43 when our second was born!

I had older parents and always resented it a bit to be honest.  Because of that i lost my dad in my early 20's and my mum is elderly in my early 30's.  Ive always envied those with younger parents who will be around ao much longer. Grandparents all died a long time ago. There will just be me left soon.

I agree with you but regardless our opinion doesnt really matter bc its about him and his feelings. This looks like a convo yall have been discussing for a while and the reasons keep changing on his end. You dont want to pressure him and then have regrets affect your marriage..at some point youll have to accept it and figure out how to be happy with one (think youd rather beba happy fam of 3 rather than a stressed fam of 4) or he will finally come around without finding excuses on why he doesnt want #2. But i dont think fixating on this will help with the possibilité of the latter :/

My father in law was in his 40s when they started. Its been great. He was still a very hands on dad.

I’m 37 my husband 57 we are expecting our 4th baby in June he’s a great hands on active dad we have a 5 a 3 and a 2 year  old all crazy boys so our life is non stop ! Everyone’s different but we are so happy with our growing family  and for anyone no matter their age tomorrow isn’t a given 🖤

None of us know how long we have in this world. My mum had me at 38 and my brother at 40 and she’s still alive now (I’m 35). My dad was two years older than her sadly lost him to cancer at 68. I never resented having older parents.
