Gestational diabetes in second pregnancy

For those who had gestational diabetes for their first pregnancy, were you given any information on your chance of getting it again in your second pregnancy? A percentage maybe?

I’m 12 weeks tomorrow with my second and I’m already assuming I’m going to have it again and am thinking of even skipping the glucose tests and just start monitoring my sugar and starting the diet closer to 20 weeks.

My family and doctor said there’s still a chance I may not get it again, but I feel like it’s not something worth getting my hopes up for.

Would you just assume you’ll get it again the second time?
