Is it normal to not have any growth scans/ultrasounds after being diagnosed with Gestational diabetes?

I’ve been diagnosed since 27 weeks (I am now 35+4) I’ve been diet controlled so far. My doctor hasn’t set up any growth scans since being diagnosed. Is this normal cause everyone I’ve talked to said that they have gotten scans (diet controlled and people that need insulin). My doctor hasn’t looked at my numbers in over a month, I feel like he isn’t taking it very seriously. I have a doctors appointment next Monday and I want to ask him if I can get an ultrasound. It’s so annoying that I even have to ask 🙄 like this isn’t any other pregnancy dude. I’m also scared he’s going to tell me I don’t need one and that’s just going to upset me more.
