When did you get ovulation confirmation done?

It’s my first Clomid cycle. I’m 5 DPO, I ovulated on CD 18. When I saw my doctor last month she told me I could get my blood work done on CD 21 to confirm ovulation but isn’t that a bit early? Should it be 7 days after you ovulate? Just wanting to hear others experiences!

The “norm” is having progesterone check on CD21, which would be 7 DPO is you ovulate on CD14. A lot of women don’t ovulate that day, that’s one reason I always recommend tracking at home. I’ve had to reschedule my progesterone check many times but out of my 22 rounds ovulation has been between CD14-CD25. If you know you ovulated late, and check won’t be 6-8 DPO just call and tell them you believe ovulation occurred later and scheduled it for what would be 7 DPO.

You would be confirming ovulation with blood work. Opks don’t confirm ovulation or dpo if you want accuracy at home you can add BBT to confirm ovulation and you will know when you ovulated, dpo, luteal phase length (is from the day after ovulation to period which stays the same each cycle give or take 1-2 days. Average length is 12-14 days give or take 1-2 days.) when period is coming by temp drop or if you miss your period and your temp stays up then there is a chance for pregnancy
