Baby items

What are some things as a first time parent you thought you needed something but in reality was a waste?? What were some things you absolutely loved and would recommend to anyone?! Or a brand of something you thought was going to be great but turned out not so great! I am about 8 weeks pregnant and already have some things in mind that I know I will not need/want because to me (personal opinion) it seems like a waste!! But I just want to see what others say!
