Gestational Diabetes - repeat offender

Jill

Hi ladies,

I am new to this app, but not new to gestational diabetes. I am pregnant with my third baby, under 3 years old. I apparently needed a challenge lol 😵‍💫 anyway, this is my third pregnancy with gestational diabetes. I was not prediabetic before pregnancy nor am diabetic after. So I hope this helps. I’ve gone to 3 different OB clinics with each of my pregnancies and the common message is this, “this has nothing to do with how much sugar YOU are consuming or not consuming. This is a BABY thing.” Basically my understanding is the baby is producing their own sugars through the placenta because they are convinced what you are giving them is not enough. Don’t know if this is correct, but thought I would share. Anyway, the reason for my post is this, I have never had enough time to lose weight between babies and pregnancies because I’ve always gotten pregnant 3 months PP. Looking to see if anyone has had a similar issue, or maybe it’s a win? Every time I start a Gestational Diabetes diet, I always always always lose weight. Now I’m not complaining because this will help me when I deliver this little dude. But is this common? My doctors always get upset with me but isn’t this out of my control? I mean I’m eating healthier portions, and I’m not intentionally losing weight. I don’t exercise although I should my body just can’t even stand up most days but I try to walk as much as possible with 2 other children. I’m not worried about baby eating because I have multiple growth scans to check, but I have lost 5 pounds already and I’ve been doing the diet for 4 weeks. Is this relatable??
