My daughter is 2 months old I gave her a bath the night before. She didn't have this. Was cleaning her up getting ready for bed and looked under her arm and seen this. I feel so bad I don't know what it is. She does have apt with her doctor tomorrow so I will also get it checked out but I feel so bad for her and she so young there's nothing I can do for it

Her skin is just irritated from that area not being fully dried. This happened with my son around this age. I took him to the doctor because it looked gross and seemed to hurt him whenever I touched it. The doctor told me to keep putting cornstarch on that area to draw the moisture out and to not add moisture to it by using creams. Also to not rub the area because that can cause more pain. I did this for about a week (applying cornstarch every time I changed him). It took a week but he was better!

It's just irritated from being wet and not dried completely. I agree with the other commentor about putting aquaphor on it.

It’s irritated from not being fully dried. You can throw some aquaphor on it. We used to notice it in our chunky baby’s rolls if they weren’t washed then dried. Breastmilk would get in their neck rolls and we’d have to make sure to wipe it out

My youngest struggled with this until she was over a year old. In her arm pits, her thigh folds, and where her legs connected to her groin. It was a CONSTANT struggle. Diapers sucked because the tiniest bit of moisture would cause her to flare up like this and even get gooey if not changed within 10 minutes. It's just from too much moisture being trapped. Keep the area dry and apply aquaphor jelly. Those little folds on babies are tricky because one little miss of drying them really well can make them all red.
