We talked on the phone setting the ground rules for our “break”. I’m gonna ask to go to his house after work on Wednesday. I’m just gonna explain that the reason we need to split is just our “future goals” look different. I want to travel the work with my (currently nonexistent) kids in ten years time. He doesn’t even know if he wants kids or not. I also want to stay near my hometown my whole life and he wants to move at least 10 hours away. There is no bad blood what so ever. We have never argued once and we always have a lot of the same interests. If we make our way back to each other in the future I would welcome him into my (friend) circle. But after graduating college this past year, I realized where I belong.
