How Did You Choose a Prenatal Care Provider with Good Bedside Manner?

Having a prenatal care provider with good bedside manner is so important to me. Have any of you found a provider who is not only skilled but also makes you feel comfortable and empowered?

I use a midwife! I’m having a homebirth, and have always went the homebirth route (I’m expecting my 5th baby) and she’s awesome, she comes to my house for prenatals (some do have offices you go to) spends as much time answering questions, never feels rushed, don’t have to deal with a bunch of random nurses only to see my “provider” for a couple minutes, I feel like less of a number and I can text her with any questions I have. She’s the one who is with me during my labors, and she will be as hands on or hands off as you wish, my husband caught our babies. I also like that midwives (at least the majority) are women, who have given birth (tho some may not have) have witnessed so many natural labors and deliveries (no wires, pain meds, pitocin etc) and they have a great understanding of the process.
