How did you decide between a hospital, birth center, or home birth with a midwife?

Hello, beautiful mommies! I am torn between having a hospital birth, a birth center birth, or a home birth with a midwife. How did you make your decision? What factors influenced you the most? Share your stories and insights to help me make the best choice for my birth experience!

My first was a hospital birth and I technically hemorrhaged. It wasn’t horrible but enough that I was glad to be where I was. I was also amazed by all the resources you have available to you during your stay; lactation consultant, pediatrician, community resources, etc. However, I do feel I was lucky to have a really positive experience in the hospital. The nurses were amazing and my midwife was great. I know that’s not always the case for everyone.

My first was a hospital birth and my next two were home births and going for my 3rd home birth (4th baby) in October. If you don’t want any interventions or restrictions in your birth, home birth is where I personally have felt the most comfortable and supported in my choices. I personally felt like I had to fight or was on defense in the hospital to ensure I got what I wanted and I still didn’t quite have the birth I had envisioned. I really wish I had gone birth center or home birth with my first but, I guess I lived and learned. No matter what you choose, it’s important to be well informed about every aspect of pregnancy, labor and birth so you can make informed decisions. Good luck! 😊

Really easy for me as 2 of my pregnancies have been high risk so theres no choice but to go to the labour ward. Having said thay its absolutley fine with me as i want to be near the doctors amd equipment that cam dave my life if something goes wrong. My first birth i tore badly and bled lots so i would have had to go to theatre anyway.
