Sch, Long flight at 13weeks
Hi! I’ve been doing most of my first trimester abroad in Southeast Asia and did my first appt at 8 week here and found small sch 15% and was ordered on bedrest for 2.5 weeks with progesterone medication and labeled as threaten abortion, and not allowed to fly for at least another month. Then I had my 10.5 week appt ultrasound to check on the sch but it did not resorb. It remained at 15% but doctor said it wasn’t bad news because baby growing and the sch did not increase in size. However, I am ordered another two weeks of bedrest + refil of progesterone prescription and a follow up appt at 12.5 week to review sch. At this upcoming appt, they will determine if I can fly or not. They basically said if I fly (which would be a long flight of 18 hours + 4-5 hour layover), I would be at high risk for increased bleeding due to the pressure and that having the hetamona is history of having blood clot/ blood vessel pop, so chances of a long flight will increase that and I won’t have access to doctor in the air if something were to happen.
I’ve rebooked my flight twice back to the US from Southeast Asia already, and really hope to fly home at 13w and thinking if I’d fly anyway if sch is still there.
Has anyone done an long flight (11-18 hrs) with a sch around 12-14 weeks? How was it? Suggestions/ tips? I’m also traveling alone with a 6 year old.
Thank you!
