Show me your house please?

Question

Anyone willing to show a picture of the way your house looks most days, or the current state of your house? I don't mind my house looking "lived in", but I'm not sure if my expectations are realistic. I'm 35 weeks pregnant and have two children under 4, so my house is definitely NOT up to the standard I would like it to be most of them time.

You’re a mother of two, almost three, so don’t stress yourself out! It’s ok if the house isn’t always cleaned and perfect. One day, your kids will be grown and not at home anymore and the house will always be tidied but you’ll miss the mess and craziness, so appreciate the chaos and remember it’s ok for your home to look lived in!

Not currently at home but we always have dishes in the sink, crumbs on the countertops, some kind of water bottles on the island, unfolded blanket on the couch, dining table chairs are not pushed in, crumbs on the table, and there will most likely be 2-3 pairs of shoes in the living room or kitchen area. We have 2 kids 6+4 that are only with us part time. They go to their dads every other week. When they’re not here we can expect it to be a little more tidy but not much. There is always some cleaning that needs to be done and I know for a fact the washer or dryer is always full.

My partners and I have a large home. Our 7 year old son is capable of cleaning after himself and he does most of the time. My partners and I clean up everything at the end of the day. My home typically remains spotless. I can’t stand clutter and things out of place. I like clean countertops with minimum things on them. Everyone has different weekly chores to maintain the cleanliness of our home. 
Don’t compare yourself to others. You do what you are able to do.

When I think about my childhood, I don't think about whether the house was cleaned up to a certain standard, or whether the dinner was ready by 5. The memories I have are those of the trips I took with my parents, the birthdays, the family get-togethers and the holidays. 
Your kids will remember those moments, and that's what defines parents. Don't be harsh on yourself, spend your energy enjoying and creating memorable moments with your family. In the long run that's what matters the most.

I have 2 under 2 (2yo and 10m). 3 dogs. It’s my parents, my husband, me, and the two kids. 
This is our typical clutter. Stuff on the counter. A few toys out. Baby stuff. We do clean and reset the main spaces every night. 
Her (2yo) toys in her room get cleaned up before nap and bedtime. She helps and I explain it’s for safety reasons.
