Middle of the night feeds

Looking for some advise. We had our 12 month check up with our health visitor yesterday. She was very happy with our little ones development. She asked how much formula he was having. He's having between 20oz-25oz over 4/5 bottles (20oz is what they recommend) and is established on 3 meals a day. She said that was fine. She asked about sleep. Hes sleeping fine but waking twice in the night for feeds. She suggested giving him some supper as well as a bottle at bedtime to see if this helps. Has anyone else been in a similar situation that can give some advise on what worked with you? Hes not old enough for cows milk yet (11months) but is this something that could help fill him? I know its normal for babys to wake in the night but I thought he'd be sleeping longer stretches by now. He's in the 98th percentile for his weight and height so I think the feeds could sometimes be more comfort than hunger.
