When to swaddle ??

Question

This is so confusing to me. My baby is breastfed and usually falls asleep at the breast. When am I supposed to put her in her swaddle/sack without waking her up?

People do it different ways, but heres what i did. I only swaddled them overnight and would put the swaddle on when i put their pajamas on right before i feed them to sleep. Then i kept the swaddle on them all night (kept it on during all night feeds) and took it off in the morning once they woke up.

Depends on the baby. 
I would get my son in pjs, feed until he falls asleep and swaddle would be laid out in cot, so I could transfer him and swaddle him and he’d stay asleep. 
During night feeds I only unswaddled him if I was gonna change his nappy, so I would unswaddle in cot so it’s ready, feed/change and then reswaddle when asleep. 
Didn’t use swaddle in day and don’t always swaddle.

We swaddled before feeding.  Babe would often fall asleep at the breast but even if he didn’t, he slept so much better fully swaddled.

My baby is EBF and I dont swaddle bc he loves his arms being up near his head! But I wrap his blanket around him (tucked under arms) before the feed then when he falls asleep at the breast its much easier to move him to his crib without disturbing him!

Just swaddle when you are laying babe down to sleep independently. If they fall asleep at breast and you transfer them, no need to swaddle. 
The only time I swaddled before nursing was at bedtime.

You don’t need to swaddle. The lactation consultant I talked to said not to swaddle a BF baby, or to at least leave their hands out of it
