IUD time

So I got a hormonal IUD as my first ever contraception yesterday. I got it on the sixth day of my menstrual cycle, but my doctor said I have to wait 7-10 days for it to be effective. But other sources say it is immediately effective if inserted during the first seven days of my cycle, which I did.

I’ve waited to have sex with my now fiance for three years and I’m flying out to see him four days from now. So yo ya girl wants to get it on..

But I’m wondering if anyone was told anything different because I really hope I dont have to wait five days into my trip to have safe sex. 🙄🙄
