Home with our girls! Birth story
My water broke at work in the most movie like scene! 😂
911 dispatcher here, I stood up to answer the 911 phone and *~woosh~* went my water. To my coworker’s dismay and after turning down having the ambulance drive me, I made my way up to the hospital which was a quick 10 minutes away. My sister came up to watch my almost three year old son and my husband came to meet me up at the hospital. That was all around 3pm, I labored for about 12 hours, getting to 6 cm and 80% effaced. I was SO shaky. Which was good, but I also was progressing. To help labor move along and give birth by the 24 hour mark, I had an epidural (godsend) and pitocin. I was able to rest a bit and finally I felt a bit of pressure. I called the doctor in and I was at 10 and fully effaced! Baby time! ❤️ baby a was born after about 10 minutes of pushing. We took a 10 minute break to get my contractions regular again and then baby b was born after about 15 minutes with zero tearing! Baby A (Alina) weighed 5.2 and Baby B (Mira) was 6.8.
Alina needed some time in the NICU for three days, but we are all finally home!
Moms of twins, don’t be afraid of a vaginal delivery! If you have some good doctors, it is completely possible! So in love with our babies! 💕🥰
