Do you think it’s okay to talk to ex on social media every day while in relationship?

My partner talks to his ex (baby mama) every day lately. They send each other videos back and forth on instagram. Their child is grown now and an adult. Do you think this is okay? I’m starting to wonder if they still have feelings for each other.

In all honesty, l think it truly depends. My parents have not been together romantically since about 2002, but they are in contact with one another almost daily if not every other day or two. They are both in their 50s with three adult children together in their late 20s and one grandson. 
They contact each other through texts and phone calls to basically keep each other updated about the family. Checking in to see how each other are, how my siblings, nephew, and l are as well as extended family from each other’s side as people age. And they even send each other funny videos they come across as well as “remember this?” pictures and pictures from “back in the day”.
Hell will have to freeze over before my parents are ever back together in a romantic relationship, but they still love each other, just as really good friends. I mean, l can’t blame them. They’ve known each other for 35 years and have built a life together - just different than society’s norm. And l cannot explain how grateful l am that my parents are so cordial with one another because it hasn’t always been that way.
