Early pregnancy in UK?

I’ve just had my positive this week (about 14dpo) and as it’s my first time I have absolutely no idea what happens. I assumed I needed an appointment with my GP, but they told me to call the local health centre for a midwife appointment.

I’ve done this and they’ve booked me in for 05/10, so by then I will be 10 weeks. This seems really far away for my first time seeing anyone at all about the pregnancy. Is this normal?

What will even happen at this appointment? Will it be my first scan? (as I read they do them between 10-14 weeks) Should my husband come? (If it’s a scan I want him there but if it’s just blood work he may as well be in work)

I haven’t been told anything and thought I would be asked how I’m doing etc. so if anyone else can help let me know what happens that would be great!
