Baby too small with Gestational Diabetes?

I had a scan on Friday and was told that my baby is measuring a little small and to increase how much food I am eating. I have gestational diabetes and have been doing well with keeping my levels controlled but I don’t know how to increase food intake by still keeping blood sugar levels good. Has anyone ever had this problem before? I have another ultrasound this Friday for another growth scan.

Protein and fat won't meaningfully impact your blood sugars and is what baby needs to grow.

What about protein intake? Would that help? Like getting an extra protein shake in every once in a while or a fruit smoothie?

I’m zero help but in the same boat. Every few days I’ll splurge with my carb intake for 1 mela as they told me that wouldn’t harm the baby. I’m really trying to avoid insulin but rather go that route and gain weight for baby and I than have a small baby. Let me know how you make out on Friday and if they provide any suggestions on what to do.
