I’m spending too much money

Hey ladies! It’s me again. The one who posted about the husband who racked up CC debt and wants to pay it down insanely quick before our new baby comes (I found out about the amount of debt after we got pregnant with this baby).

Anyways, my toddler’s birthday is this month (next week) and we’re having a party this weekend. I’ve been making decorations for it to keep costs low. I figured out money for food and decorations it’s about $100 ish in our area. I’m making mini sandwiches myself, cheese and crackers, drinks, balloons, a craft game for the kids, a gift bag and I’m making the cake myself.

My husband is upset that I’m spending so much money on the party. That we need to be putting extra money towards the debt. I told him that it will just be a smaller payment this month. It’s not fair to take away from her. He says she’s young and won’t even notice. I’m still doing the party. It’s fair. I don’t care if it puts a damper on his plans. He’s not talking to me right now because I “can’t see reason.”

Sorry for any typos or autocorrects.

To edit: I’ve talked to him about getting a second job. He says if we keep doing what we’re doing when we get our tax return we can throw everything we get from that at it. That is completely doable if we stick to the $700 a month payment he wants to put towards it every month.
