How often are you feeding solids? 12 months

Question

I know the NHS recommends 3 meals and 2 snacks but that really is too much food for my son- whenever I try stick to this he doesn’t eat it. He eats much better with 3 meals a day… occasionally he has a snack before bed if I fed dinner early but he wastes most of it lol. 
He has only started taking to eating at about 10 months, before that he really showed no interest
Do u think this is ok? How often are you feeding solids?

Do whatever works for your child. My son isn’t bothered with food. He eats enough to keep going but he doesn’t really love it. We tried the 3 meals a day and two snacks but he just doesn’t need the snacks so unless he wants one and shows interest, we don’t bother

I have a new 12 mo old and we do 3 meals and still nurse on demand 
Sometimes we will have one snack in the afternoon.

With our oldest she had breaktfast, lunch was a bottle, a snack, she'd have a few bites of our food for dinner with half of a bottle, then a bottle before bed. She was VERY resistant to food. Found out it was because we were giving her formula AND food she was allergic to. We didn't know until she was 19 months old. She spent almost 2 years in non-stop excruciating pain. By 14 months she was eating all food. With our youngest she was on 3 meals and 2 snacks a day by 12 months old. That little girl has always been very food motivated, but herr tounge and lip ties also made bottles difficult so she was happy to eat without pain.

I would do breakfast lunch and dinner unless he displayed signs he was hungry then a snack wouldn’t force it thou
